Rothenburg ob der Tauber
With its widely preserved medieval old city centre, Rothenburg is a world-famous tourist attraction with many historical buildings and cultural assets. Its original appearance gives the old city centre its outstanding charm since there are hardly any stylistic clashes by modern buildings in the inner city. Rothenburg is well-known for several important museums such as the criminal museum, the Reichsstadmuseum, the craftsman’s house and Käthe Wohlfahrt’s Christmas museum. Rothenburg is likewise situated on the romantic street.

Nature

Idyllic river Jagst valley
The river Jagst and its side valleys are one of the most valuable eco-systems of the Land Baden-Württemberg. Large areas of it with their abundant flora and fauna are wildlife sanctuaries. The kingfisher, for example, is native here. Nature and art loving people will get everything they want in the Jagst valley. Popular and well-known places along the river Jagst are Ellwangen, Kirchberg a.d.J., Langenburg, the Schöntal monastery and Jagsthausen. Enjoy a hiking or biking tour through wonderful and largely untouched nature.

Way of St. James
The Ways of St. James are probably the most famous pilgrim paths across Europe. The Franconian-Swabian Way of St. James from Würzburg to Ulm leads through the beautiful Hohenlohe region to Crailsheim, through the Jagst and Kocher valley into the Rems valley and after a steep climb to Himmelreich over the Swabian Alb to Ulm down into the Danube valley. The route runs directly past the Stadthotel Crailsheim, which makes it an ideal stopover or beginning of your trip.
